Western Carolina University is a constituent institution of the University of North Carolina located southwest of Asheville fifty-two miles near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and approximately 150 miles north of Atlanta. The university student population is over 8,100 with 160 million dollars worth of new facilities that are in the process of being constructed.
