EVELYN COLLEGE OF DESIGN (ECD)
We have three different faculties: Fashion, Interior and Graphic Design.
Evelyn College of Design was started in 1976 as a pioneer design institution in a field hitherto unknown in Kenya and indeed East Africa. Within the first year Evelyn College was able to make its mark felt in Kenya and beyond and attracted, and still does, students from Zimbabwe, Zambia, Uganda, Ethiopia, Namibia and elsewhere. Since its inception, ECD has perfected the training in clothing construction, fashion and textile design not to mention Interior and Graphic design courses.
Our focus is to provide an education of excellence for a career of the stated courses.
We continue with dedication to prepare young people for the challenging world of Business.
ECD boasts among its alumni, top designers who have made names for themselves in international and local scene i.e. Smirnoff Fashion Awards and M-Net Face of Africa Awards.
Initially started as a design school but for the past several years has introduced Interior Design, working with architects or design houses; also Graphic Design working in Advertising companies or Graphic Design houses.
ECD is also affiliated to overseas institutions where our students proceed for degree courses once they complete their 2 years diploma courses. Currently former students are doing extremely well in London, New York and Paris and locally. Students are able get credits for the time they have studied at Evelyn College.
