Company description:
Our Mission
Strengthening human services through training, organizational development, technology, and evaluation.
Values
Initiative
We are self-reliant, and we lead through action. We look for opportunities to increase our effectiveness. We seek challenge and assume responsibility for doing whatever needs to be done.
Quality
Our standard is excellence. We always work to exceed expectations: "Good enough" is never good enough. We strive toward continuous improvement in all we do.
Cooperation
We work collaboratively and constructively toward shared goals. We accept and appreciate the value of opposing views, but we do not allow differences to interfere with the achievement of desired outcomes.
Creativity
We are consistently open to finding new ways to help achieve the CDHS mission. We consciously seek innovative ways to interact, to do our work, and to meet the needs of those we serve. We use our diversity to gain new perspectives.
With nearly one hundred full- or part-time staff, the Buffalo Office is the largest of the five CDHS offices. Consisting of four primary training units and ten support units, the facility serves as headquarters and central operations center for the entire CDHS organization.
The main offices of the CDHS Child Welfare/Child Protective Services Training Institute, Independent Living Training Project, Medicaid Training Institute, Management Leadership Institute, and Special Projects training units are located in the Pierce Arrow facility. A large number of their training offerings are conducted there, along with additional training events conducted by the Albany-based Foster/Adoptive Parent Training Project and the New York City-based HIV/AIDS Training Institute.
The CDHS commitment to promoting personal and professional growth and development and ongoing excellence is reflected daily in the quality of training delivered by CDHS training specialists. CDHS trainers—most of whom have direct program experience from years of work with DSS districts or related agencies—work consistently and collaboratively to maintain their position at the leading edge of expertise within their respective areas of training. Working closely with subject matter experts, curriculum designers, graphic designers, literary editors, and multimedia and distance learning specialists, CDHS trainers develop unique collaborative relationships that culminate in the provision of compelling and enriching learning experiences for our training participants.
In seeking to streamline and elevate trainee learning experiences, layers of advanced technology have been gradually introduced to the CDHS training development and delivery processes. Initiatives such as the trainer-driven “smart” training room project and other distance learning technologies are rapidly creating learning platforms that enhance overall training effectiveness and enable geographically dispersed audiences to obtain essential training.
