Company description:
THE COMPANY
Timberlane Woodcrafters, Inc. was founded in 1995 by Rick Skidmore. Through Rick’s entrepreneurial spirit and leadership, the vision that began as a 1,500 SF workspace with just two employees has grown into a company comprised of 55 employees including craftsmen and administrators, working in a 20,000 SF facility in North Wales, Pa.
Every Timberlane employee, from secretary to woodworker to executive, participates in a profit-sharing plan, through an environment of open books management in which earnings and expenses are reviewed together. This shared sense of purpose has led to an uncommon bond between employees, a genuine commitment, and an esprit de corps which translates into pride in the product and joy in the work.
PHILOSOPHY
Timberlane Woodcrafters was born of an enthusiasm for woodworking and a commitment to quality that is unsurpassed in the industry. The old-fashioned ideals of customer service, quality products and optimal value are not compromised; they are practiced with zeal. Timberlane professionals are available to counsel and guide customers throughout the selection process, measuring and hardware choices, as well as post-sale for advice on shipping, delivery, installation and painting. Shutters are their business; service is their avocation.
LEADERSHIP
Rick Skidmore, founder & CEO started Timberlane after a dissatisfying experience restoring a home in Doylestown, PA. He found that the offering of high-quality, historically accurate shutters was lacking and founded Timberlane with the belief that he could craft better shutters himself. Since 1995, Rick has been joined by a team of professionals who continue to drive the mission and dedication to quality that the company was founded on. This passion for the company vaulted Timberlane onto the Inc. 500 list of the nation’s fastest growing companies for three consecutive years in 2001, 2002 & 2003.
