Power Services Generation Stategist II
This position is responsible for developing new and maintaining existing purchased power and joint unit participation agreements for both short and long term wholesale power contract supply and sales, including negotiations and recommendations of award to the Vice President of Power Services, Executive Management Team and Boards of Directors. Permanent full time. Relocation to Tucson AZ provided.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent job related experience
10 years of progressively responsible electric utility experience to include an effective combination of generation capital construction, generation plant engineering, system planning, resource planning, energy accounting and billing, rates and financial analysis, inter-utility or large industrial customer service
Negotiate and present joint unit construction, operation and maintenance contracts, short and long term wholesale bulk power purchase and sales contracts, for both conventional and renewable resources;
Develop effective short and long term power contract service agreements;
Develop economic and strategic analyses for contracting power supply from various power generation resources, including unit participation, purchased power and self build options;
Maintain existing contractual agreements, including assisting in interpretation and administration by others and in negotiating resolution of any disputes;
Understanding of existing and newly emerging power generation and renewable resource technologies
Demonstrated strong analytical and mathematical skills
Extensive contracts experience including preparation, bidding, analyzing bids, negotiation, award recommendation and implementation
Maintain working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, codes, standards, and laws
