Job Description
An Southwestern Ohio manufacturer seeks a Software Engineer, reporting directly to the Manager of Software Development, to design, develop, maintain software for the company's inspection systems. The chosen applicant may also be responsible for electrical or mechanical design.
Duties
Designing, prototyping, documenting & initiating manufacturing of systems combining mechanical, electrical, electronic & primarily software.
Assist in trouble shooting for manufacture, installation, training & service phases of product.
Provide documentation to ensure accurate technical data for on ongoing support of assigned programs and products.
Visit customer sites - including overseas customers - to develop specifications for products and to verify replacements for obsolete electronics & software for manufacturing & service.
Providing necessary software support for all assigned products.
This position will be responsible for developing & updating manuals.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science & 5+ years of related experience.
Must have a deep & detailed understanding of the gauging, servo, and mechanical subsystems and how they interact with each other and with the software, as well as the geometry of the different types of parts that are measured.
Must have experience with CMM or metrology or GD&T applications; Renishaw probes control applications experience is a major plus.
Experience with .NET technologies
Ability to perform full life cycle applications development, enhancement, and maintenance assignments.
Write & develop code.
Apply agile software development tools including automated unit testing (nUnit), source documentation generator (nDoc), and source version control techniques
Some travel required.
Extensive communication is required at all levels.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or have a Green Card.
