Duties:
CACI has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer to support The Office of Naval Research (ONR) Weapons and Air Platforms Department (Code 35). The Engineer will be responsible for efforts undertaken by the Department Head. The initial task is to develop a systems engineering plan for Directed Energy (DE) and prepare a roadmap. Additional tasks would fall within the Weapons and Air Platforms Science and Technology (S&T) area.
Specific duties include:
Close working relationship with the Department Head in performing system engineering and management duties in developing a Directed Energy Weapons (DEW) plan with roadmap(s) of related technologies. Perform engineering studies, analyses, utilizing modeling and simulation tools to support development of Navy DE roadmaps and plans. Collect and maintain data that can be used to support modeling and analyses. Conduct assessments on requirements, designs and plans for utilization scenarios and proposed test sites.
Required Qualifications:
Must be eligible to obtain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance to qualify.
A Bachelors degree from an accredited university in engineering, science or physics, and ten to twelve years of related engineering experience. Must have two years of related background in Directed Energy technologies i.e., High Energy Lasers (HEL) and High Power Microwave (HPM). Must have experience in the technical, engineering and programmatics areas of Directed Energy (DE). Demonstrate an ability to apply expert practices and procedures within the DE areas of HEL and HPM, accomplish scientific and engineering analysis, provide professional findings of technical analysis in the form of reports and presentations, and execute complex technical tasks. Candidate should be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ideal candidate would also have prior military experience in a related technical field.
Desired Qualifications:
Masters degree in scientific discipline with five years Navy Science and Technology (S&T) experience in DEW requirements in addition to above.
