BJUSMB/SD 0310232 -- A new exciting role has come up for an enthusiastic ambitious person with PAC’s experience for a hospital in West London. This hospital is looking to take on PAC’s Radiographers with a keen interest in developing their skills within this field. A wide range of diagnostic imaging services including MRI scanning, CT scanning, General X-ray, OPG, Ultrasound and DEXA scanning are provided.They offer its staff an excellent opportunity to progress and gain knowledge within the clinic.
Responsibilities:
To liaise with the Radiologists & Senior Diagnostic Imaging Staff.
To ensure that patient confidentiality is not breached as well as comply with all Departmental and Hospital policies.
To perform all types of radiographic examinations as required by referring Physicians according to Departmental policies and procedures.
To work accurately to maintain a high standard of radiography and to keep patient waiting time to a minimum.
Ensure that monitoring standards for patient care, technical performance and reporting provides a high quality service.
To be prepared to train and work in the various speciality areas of the department on a rota basis as assigned by the Diagnostic Imaging Manager or his/ her Deputy.
To assist in the care of all equipment within the department ensuring that cleanliness is maintained and that all equipment faults are recorded and reported immediately to a supervisory person.
To create and maintain good working relationships with all members of the Diagnostic Imaging Department, working positively to develop a cohesive team.
To promote good relations with referring clinicians, other hospital departments and outside organisations to ensure that the reputation of the Diagnostic Imaging Department .
To participate in a Quality Assurance programme for equipment, processing and Radiation Protection, maintaining accurate records and reporting problems to the appropriate personnel.
To be fully conversant with the Diagnostic Imaging Management System, and the computerised method of patient and examination documentation. To manage PACS and archive patient examinations. To assist colleagues with the use of PACS or any radiology based system.
To ensure that effective booking, information, reporting and filing systems are maintained and developed.
To participate in a departmental On-Call rota and to work flexible hours if required to accommodate changing workload patterns.
To undertake delegated tasks as designated by the Superintendent Radiographers and Radiology Manager.
To assist in the orientation of new staff (either permanent, bank or agency) to the Department, providing help and support with the equipment, application and database training and operation.
Requirements:
• Each candidate must possess the Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Radiography or the Diploma of the College of Radiographers.
• To be validated by the HPC if studies were completed outside England
• Each candidate ideally must have completed at least 1 years post graduate radiography experience.
• Continuous professional development substantiated by personal portfolio
