Field Engineer
Reporting to: Manager, Field Construction
The Field Engineer provides Technical Advisor support and performs as Site Shift Supervisor for contracted labor.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities
Technical Advisor
leads work and provides technical guidance and expertise in support of steam
turbine retrofit projects, new installations, and fleet outages
supports disassembly, repair, and assembly of steam turbine generators and
auxiliary systems
supports STG start up activities, advises and approves STG and auxiliary
system disassembly, repair, and assembly
supports trouble shooting activities
coordinates with Toshiba design groups as directed by Project Manager
Site Shift Supervisor
supervises site labor assigned to STG activities
manages shift activities
approves labor timesheets
submits shift work activity reports
coordinates shift activities with Project Manager
notifies Project Manager of all issues that can/might impact project schedule
or costs
submits expense reports in a timely manner to allow Project Manager to
finalize project costs Proposal/contract planning support
assists Project Manager in project development as assigned
Minimum Position Requirements:
Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
With Bachelors degree, 1 -2 years in applicable field experience
(steam turbine)
Without Bachelors degree, currently active industry experience in STG installation or repair work plus minimum 10 years field experience in STG installation or repair work Certified Steam Turbine technology training or equivalent company Must be able to read English with excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to travel 90 % of the time and work significant overtime
