Our client is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter to Design, generate and maintain drawings, bills of materials, etc. in the manufacture of products and systems. They are seeking one new grad and 2 experienced designers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

•Work with customers, sales, production and other areas to determine requirements.

•Work from discussions, sketches, prints, etc. to visualize product; determine and layout materials to insure process, configuration, space, safety and other requirements are considered; provide necessary documentation.

•Use drafting techniques and computer aided equipment to prepare assembly and detail drawings for necessary views, dimensions, materials and other related data; make calculations for bills of materials and other specifications.

•Assist and instruct production personnel; troubleshoot and resolve problems.
•Work with engineering and customers in development of new products; advise on material shapes, configuration, method of building, etc.

•Work with manufacturing regarding processes, fabrication problems, training in fabrication techniques, etc.; make recommendations regarding product design, material usage, etc; follow progress of work; anticipate or investigate delays and inadequate performance;
take corrective action as necessary; inspect completed product.
•Work with outside fabricators to aid and coordinate activities and products; direct work according to delivery and fabricators' capabilities for most efficient operation; follow progress of work; anticipate or investigate delays and inadequate performance;
take corrective action as necessary.
•Work with dealers and sales staff to determine necessary information to produce quote for customer.
