Our client is seeking a Project Design Engineer/Specialist who will be responsible for the design of new products and systems; provide support in the manufacturing process; provide customer service, installation and other related support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Analyze customer requirements, specifications and data; work with customers, sales, manufacturing and other areas to determine spacing, size, detail and other requirements.
•Review orders and quotes; design and layout products and systems for approval; make changes as necessary.
•Visualize and lay out a variety of operations, sequences, processes, tolerances, alignments, safety and other similar requirements.
•Analyze material needs, time frames, quality, and other factors to insure cost effective production.
•Obtain knowledge of customer equipment and operation practices; keep abreast of new engineering development; establish relationships with engineering, industry and other resources.
•Provide support for installation and service; resolve design problems encountered by customers or personnel; work with customers and accounting regarding payment terms and overdue balances.
•Assist and instruct production personnel; troubleshoot and resolve problems.
•Work with manufacturing regarding processes, fabrication problems; make recommendations regarding product design, material usage, etc; follow progress of work; anticipate or investigate delays and inadequate performance; take corrective action as necessary;
inspect completed product.
•Work with outside fabricators to aid and coordinate activities and products; negotiate price, completion, parts requirements, etc.; direct work according to delivery and fabricators' capabilities for most efficient operation; follow progress of work; anticipate

•Observe all prescribed Health, Safety & Environment rules and regulations
•Fulfill responsibilities outlined in the QS Manual and Responsibility Matrices.
