Environmental & Safety Manager, Asheville, NC Area
Responsible for the compliance of safety and environmental laws and regulations in the plant. Evaluate Safety and Environmental Management Systems and adopt appropriate objectives and targets to achieve continual improvement.
The Environmental and Safety Manager has the responsibility and authority to;
Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process and quality system.
Set expectations for environmental compliance and to improve environmental conditions for the facility;
Set expectations for safety standards and improve safety performance for the facility.
Identify facility deficiencies, recommend solutions, and implement corrective measures to insure proper facility operation.
Verify the implementation of solutions.
Identify and address strengths and improvement opportunities of subordinates through open communication, training, and counseling or corrective action when required.
Interface with manufacturing and support personnel as required to improve the efficiency of the facility operation.
Ensure compliance to the Standards of related policies, procedures and compliance with all environmental and safety regulations.
Identify and record any product, process and quality system problems.
Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
Maintain utility and operating budgets within planned levels.
BS degree in Engineering or related field with five plus years experience.
Knowledge of EPA Environmental and OSHA Regulations.
