I am a Civil Engineering Mapping Technician. My job involves the preparation of the Final Maps, Parcel and Tract, for recording by the developer of the land in question. That includes all of the boundary calculations, interior lot and street calculations; interaction with local governmental agencies, water districts, and utility companies. It is also a part of my job to meet and satisfy all of these governmental agencies, water districts, and utility companies recommendations and or conditions in order for the map to be recorded in that county. I prepare various legal descriptions and exhibits for recordation as well. This includes, but is not limited to, ALTA Surveys (American Land Title Association Survey), Boundary and Encumbrance Maps, and Lot Consolidation/Lot Line Adjustment Plats with associative legal descriptions accordingly. All of the different projects outlined above require a sound understanding of The Subdivision Map Act.
