I have recently come to the end of a non-renewable contract as a foreign professor at a major national university in Japan, and am now available to undertake new employment. My recent research and publication is in Ancient History. I hold a PhD in Literature, and have taught Comparative Literature, History, and Humanities at universities in Japan and Europe, including American universities in Europe. I can teach courses in History, Comparative Literature, Classics and Humanities, and in the History of Ancient Art. My current academic research is in Ancient History, including Art History, in which I have an extensive publication record. I was awarded a Ph.D. for a dissertation on the religious iconography of Roman relief sculpture, by Tsukuba University, Japan, in March, 2006. I am also engaged in a broader project of research into a related subject in the political and dynastic history of the Roman Empire.
